The GK Way
Care built around a life, not a list.
This is the part other agencies don’t talk about. Home care works when it is specific to a person. Once licensed, we plan to spend the time to find out who they are — then show up accordingly.
- 01
Start with the person, not the schedule.
Before the first visit, we plan to learn what they love. Their coffee order. The song that makes them smile. The name of the dog they had in 1972. Care will follow from there.
- 02
Treat loneliness as the primary condition.
Most older adults are not, in truth, asking for help getting dressed. They are asking for someone to be there. We plan to design visits around presence first.
- 03
Get out of the house when we can.
The coast, the park, the diner, the bakery. A life lived only in one room shrinks. The plan is to bring the world back within reach.
- 04
Bring the family with us.
We will send photos. We will call to debrief. We will celebrate the good days. You should never wonder how today went.
“The best days are the ones they talk about for a week.”
What it could look like
Three sketches. Three completely different weeks.
Illustrative scenarios of how a week with GK Cares might be shaped, once we open. They are composites — not current or past clients.
Tuesday mornings could be tea, a crossword, and a slow walk through Shoreline. Thursdays, cardamom rolls from Gulnoza’s kitchen and the old Persian records.
Daily check-ins with breakfast. Wednesdays, a drive to the wharf for fish and chips. Whatever the week needs, planned around what he loves.
Three afternoons on the patio with a book and a short nap. A visit from her grandson timed to overlap with ours. Sunday pastries, and we stay.
Composite scenarios. Not actual clients.
Our promise
Your parent will be known here.
Not a chart number. Not a case. A person, with stories and preferences and a favorite chair. That is the floor of what we plan to offer — every other service will build on top of it.
